Canucks Dan Hamhuis leaves arena on stre

There was an awfully scary moment in Vancouver on Wednesday night when defenseman Isiah Kiner-Falefa Jersey struggled to get off the ice after being hit in the face with a slap shot in a game against the New York Rangers. The veteran blueliner was bleeding profusely from his face and mouth on his way to the bench and it was later revealed that Hamhuis left the arena on a stretcher.The play actually all started with Hamhuis turning the puck over. The Rangers worked the puck up to defenseman who unleashed a hard slap shot. The puck struck Hamhuis in the side of the Shelby Miller Jersey face, dropping the Canuck to the ice in agony.Hamhuis remained down for a few seconds before trying to get himself to his feet. He was helped by teammates to the bench where athletic trainers were Elvis Andrus Jersey waiting with towels. The defenseman then struggled to keep his feet under him and there was visible concern rippling through the Canucks bench as Hamhuis arrived.WARNING: Some may find the following video disturbing. Hamhuis did not return to the game, which the Canucks ended up winning. Dan Murphy of Sportsnet i sued the following report after the game:Only update I can give is that Hanhuis was taken out of room on stretcher and into an ambulance.
